Organizer of the much anticipated spiritual contest between controversial Bishop Daniel Obinim and Okomfo Appiah is under fire for not
paying the needed fee for the venue of the event.
One Kwadwo Bawuah Abesiriwa of Kumasi-based Boss FM according to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) failed
to pay the necessary fee for permit to use the Jubilee Park for the contest on
Tuesday April 12, 16.
The contest according to reports, attracted more than 2000
inhabitants of the Kumasi metropolis to the venue, majority of whom were
members of Bishop Obinim’s congregation.
It however became a fiasco when the
traditional priest, Okomfo Yaw Appiah who claimed to given occultic powers to
the self-confessed Angle Obinim who is Founder and Leader of the International
Godsway Church for his ministry.
The controversial man of God declared
himself the winner of the contest after the traditional priest failed to turn
up at the venue but later claimed he was put under house arrest.
But spokesperson for the KMA, Gordon
Nyame in an interview said, the organizer failed to follow right procedure.
He explained that, the Jubilee Park is
the property of the KMA thus everyone is required to be given a permit before
using the facility.
This procedure, Gordon Nyame added, the Boss FM presenter
failed to follow therefore must pay a fine or meet them in court.
In a rebuttal, Kwadwo Bawuah Abesiriwa
who denied any wrong doing, expressed shock at the conduct of the KMA.
He said the Jubilee Park is a public
facility thus every citizen is entitled to use it as and when it is needed.
Kwadwo Bawuah Abesiriwa said he is
ready to meet the KMA in court if the need arises.
