Amanda Acquah, wife of Black Stars midfielder, Afriyie Acquah has denied
rumors that her husband has divorced her.
In an exclusive interview with Peace Fm ,
Amanda indicated that Afriyie still honors his responsibility to her as a
husband.
Rumors of Amanda and Afriyie’s divorce have been heavily reported in the
media after an audio of Amanda insulting her husband got leaked. There
were also reports that Afriyie’s family had gone to see Amanda’s family to
break off their marriage traditionally.
However, Amanda who was recently involved in a sex scandal has
stated emphatically that no one has visited her family with drinks to end any
marriage and neither has Afriyie started any court proceedings.
She explained that her marriage to Afriyie is going through some
difficult times at the moment which has resulted in them being separated but
they are still legally and culturally marriage.
“We are not divorced, we are just
separated. We have been separated since March this year. Afriyie is in Italy
and I am in London but we are still married and Afriyie Acquah is still my
husband. My family has not received any drink from his family asking for
divorce and we have not signed any divorce papers.
He still
takes care of me and performs his responsibilities as my husband. He sends me
money like he always does and nothing has changed.”
