Nikita Guy, Trinidadian Model who has by storm taken over the internet

You may have seen her somewhere on the Internet. She goes by the name Nikita Guy, a photography model from Trinidad and Tobago. A few weeks ago, I bumped into her photos online; she’s gone viral. Her Instagram handles @tha_antidote_ is clearly popping!

Nikita never planned to be a model; she has always been the calm and collected girl, who never had a thing for the limelight. She started modeling recently, in August 2015, when a photographer J. Hamilton reached out to her and proposed a shoot to her. She thought it was a crazy idea since there were other girls tall and skinny that he could have opted to work with
.

A few years ago she was a chubby chick but decided to hit the gym to lose some of the weight. Who knew this could then help her get noticed by her future collaborator? After she lost weight, there was speculation from critics (of course) who thought that her new body wasn’t real.

“I was just a simple girl from Trinidad, nobody really knew me. I was stuck to myself. I go to a few parties but I never tried to be known. I just stayed at home, watched television and attended school; I’m studying Psychology at the University of Western Indies,” she said in her first media interview.

When it comes to her, curves don’t lie. She’s not afraid to show what she was blessed with, which was not the case before. Her Instagram is laced with sexy photos of her lingerie shoots, mostly set in the woods.

“A lot of people will message me and tell me that I give them confidence. Big bodied people, thick people reach out to me. I inspire them to be somebody. You know nothing is impossible. Never be ashamed of your body,” she adds.

Nikita comes across as a soft-spoken, thoughtful, girl who has big dreams. Being born on a beautiful Island like Trinidad is itself a blessing (I would gladly make a comic book set there) but from what I gather, she believes there’s more to life. She loves fashion.

“I have a great passion for fashion. I have designed clothes and stuff. I have something in the making; I’d love to start my own company but I am not financially stable enough to start it yet. I also love football — I’m not good at playing but I love to watch it,” she say

What was once an unsure decision has become a big thing for her. At first, she turned down Hamilton, who insisted that he would love to work with her because he saw something in her. She was afraid of the body shaming that would follow; the stereotype that models are supposed to be skinny and tall was a major impediment to starting her journey.

 After delaying for many months, she decided to give it a shot in 2015. And these are the results:
