NPP Shorten my four-year term to only 3 years – President Mahama

President Mahama
Ghana’s President, John Mahama accuse New Patriotic Party (NPP) of wasting one year of his four-year term due to 2012 election petition.
The main opposition resorted to the Supreme Court to challenge the presidential election results in a legal tussle which dragged for about nine months
.
President Mahama said this at Asankragwaa in the Amenfi West district saying “2012 after elections was a joke as our brothers said they would not accept the outcome. I even thought they were joking before we could say jack they were in court.”
He continues saying “For almost a year we were battling it out at the Supreme Court. Until finally the Supreme Court said let the young man go and enjoy his Presidency declaring the elections free and fair and legitimate.
“So truly speaking, we used only three years to do all the massive works you are seeing. I believe it’s God who gives power. It’s God who crowns a king. I know it’s not because of my wisdom, my strength or my handsomeness, it’s God who made me President.
“So every day my prayer is that let thy will be done. If it’s God’s will for me to continue being president, it shall come to pass.”
President Mahama is optimistic he will be retained based on the massive infrastructure projects his government has embarked on over the last four years.
Pollster Ben Ephson has predicted he will win the elections by 52% while other polls have gone in favour of main opposition leader Nana Akufo-Addo.
