Obiri Boahene |
Speaking with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka FM AM Drive, Lawyer Obiri Boahene mentioned that distributing these items to the people signifies that the people are vulnerable and that they accept items prior to elections in order to vote for candidates.
He mentioned the distribution of these items is a clear indication that the President and His wife are using these items to acquire votes from the people and not considering the long-term effects of their actions.
But the Deputy Campaign Coordinator and Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Adu Yeboah debunked the assertion by the Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII) that the president's distribution of outboard motors to fishermen in the Western Region is worse than vote buying.
He added that the criticisms would not deter the NDC from continuing the good works that they are doing in the Western Region as well as other areas.
Adu Yeboah said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in their statements make reference to things they have and that he does not understand why they are worried about the distribution of outboard motors to the people of the Western Region.
“These criticisms will not deter the NDC from doing the good things that they have been doing,” he added.
