The President was, however, quick to add that the party has been able to surmount these challenges.

My first term in office has been a very challenging but positive and fruitful one. In all the challenges that we have faced, God has created an opportunity for us to lay a foundation for the sustainable development of our dear nation Ghana. Shortly after our inauguration, the party was faced with the prolonged electoral dispute, some serious economic challenges, crippling power challenges, a spate of industrial arrest, market fires , dissatisfied with the election results our opponents tied the whole nation down …
He made the revelation at the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) campaign launch at Cape Coast in the Central Region.
Meanwhile, former President John Rawlings and the founding father of NDC told the governing party that the 2016 elections will not be an easy task, reminding them not to underestimate the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“The task ahead of you won’t be as easy task. I will reserve what I have to say till after the elections when I will come around the country to share with you how I think we could restore the kind of strength that can take us well into the future. There are certain weaknesses that we need to deal with,” he said.
