It will never happen again. We have learnt our lessons - Montie 3

Montie 3
The three (3) persons convicted of contempt of the Supreme Court have said that they have repented of their ‘sins’ and would not engage in any act that would take them back to prison.
Salifu Maase (Mugabe) who spoke on behalf of the three upon their release from prison pledged that the trio would always be circumspect in their conduct and season their public utterances with salt.

“The past month has been a difficult one for us and none of us will ever wish to find himself anywhere near that situation again. Never again and I say never again. Never again…,” he said.
Salifu Maase (alias Mugabe), Alistair Nelson and Ako Gunn were released from the Akuse prisons after President John Mahama granted them a pardon upon the advice of the Council of State.
The three, accompanied by their lawyers were at the premises of Radio Gold – the station which spearheaded a petition for their release.
At a rally to celebrate their freedom, the three were doused with white powder.
Mugabe maintained that the three have learnt painful lessons which they believed should be shared with all and sundry.
They urged media practitioners and ‘all who appear on our platforms’ to take a cue from what happened to them and be careful with their utterances.
“We have learnt our lessons and we would like to reiterate President Mahama’s call to our fellow media practitioners and all who appear on our platforms to take a cue from and from what happened to us and be circumspect in our utterances….,” he added.
The three also acknowledged the need to work to safeguard the security of the nation especially in an election year and promised to ensure that that becomes the priority in their various endeavours.
Counsel for the three, George Loh said although they are excited about the release, issues that led to their conviction should not be taken for granted.
He said managers of the radio station – Montie FM on which the contemptuous comments were made – will ensure strict adherence to rules from now on.
“The release does not mean we will continue to tolerate the use of improper language on the station. Lessons have been learnt,” he stressed.
