In Ghana, heavy rainstorm hits Northern region

Thousands of people have been rendered homeless in 15 communities in the Chereponi district of the Northern region following a massive rainstorm on Friday.

According to a source, the rain has affected many schools in the area, homes, clinics, farms, etc.

Meanwhile, district coordinator of the National Disaster Management Oragnsiation,  Amadu Sulemana confirmed that five casualties have been recorded so far. He noted that the affected individuals are receiving treatment at the hospital.

The victims are; two females and three children who sustained various degrees of injury.

Sulemana also called on the public and all corporate entities to come to the aid of NADMO in the region to enable it provide relief to the affected families.
