A 25 year-old woman has committed suicide

A 25-year-old woman, Mawupemo Keshi popularly known as area Mama has committed suicide by hanging herself in a room.

The incident occurred at Kpong Zongo in the Lower Manya krobo municipality of the Eastern region of Ghana on Saturday.

The body of the deceased has been conveyed to Akuse government hospital morgue by the Police.

Akuse district Police commander, ASP Francis Ackah explained that, a team of Police officers were dispatched to the scene after they had information of the incident but upon reaching there, family members had already forced open the room where the deceased hanged herself.

He said the deceased hanged herself on the ceiling with a nylon robe.

ASP Ackah further explained that the Police, after taking inventories conveyed the body to the morgue.

The police commander is, however, worried that family members of the deceased are reluctant to assist police with necessary information to help unravel the cause of the sad incident.
