Chief at left shaking hand with Mahama |
Chiefs and people of Huniso Pepesa in the Prestea Huni Valley district of the Western region of Ghana are threatening to boycott this year’s elections if government does not restore power supply to the area.
Chief of the area, Nana John Gyewunu
told journalists, they do not expect any political party to come and campaign
in the area because they have been deserted.
He said a research he has conducted
reveals that registered voters in the town vote massively for the National Democratic Congress and therefore could not fathom why government has deserted
them.
“We have decided not to vote for them
if they refuse to listen to our pleas. Even small towns in this region are all
enjoying power supply and so why can’t we also enjoy” he said.
