Authorities bans phones after pupils post videos of teen being stabbed in playground

The teen was stabbed at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare
The 15-year-old boy was rushed to hospital with a slash injury to his chest after a row over drugs and one of the teenagers was handed a knife, a parent said.
Dozens of pupils witnessed the attack during lunch break last Monday at Worle Community School in Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset.
Some filmed the stabbing on mobile phones and the footage was circulated online, prompting talks of a blanket ban on the use of phones during schools hours
Students could also be subject to random searches of their belongings and lockers.
The victim has been discharged from hospital following the attack, which has been described as an "isolated incident" by teachers and police.
• School discipline failure fuels crime, says Home Office.
One worried dad has removed his sons aged 15 and 13 out of the school.
He said: "My son saw the whole thing. It was over drugs. Two students got into a fight and then one of their friends gave them a knife.
"A teacher ran away to get help and then the ambulance turned up to take the boy to hospital.
"It happened in front of lots and lots of students. The boy who was hurt is one of my son's friends.
He added: "Trouble has been brewing for a long time it's not like this is out of the blue.
"Kids have been taking knives into school for a few years and steroids are rife it's out of control."
In a letter to parents, headteacher Peter Binding announced plans to take drastic action to ensure student safety .
He said: "In future, should any information come to light, we will enforce the right to search a student's belongings (without consent) and locker to ensure the safety of all.
"Should any student refuse to follow these instructions the parents and the police will be informed."
He added that the school will reconsider its policy towards mobile phones with a view to banning them completely after some students filmed the incident and posted it online.
"Any material posted on-line could compromise the actions of the police and we would advise all students to refrain from contributing or posting items," he said.
Counselling is available to any students who may have been left traumatised by the incident.
Two teenage boys arrested in connection with the stabbing and have been released on bail.
A 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and ABH and has been banned from entering North Somerset while on bail.
A 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice, possession of a bladed article and assisting an offender.

Both boys are due to answer bail in early May.
