Roberto Mancini, Inter Milan head coach sacked

Coach Roberto Mancini
Inter Milan have sacked head coach Roberto Mancini, the Serie A club has confirmed.
Mancini became Inter head coach in November 2014, taking the club to fourth place in Italy’s top flight last season.
Mancini’s relationship with new Inter owners Suning Holdings broke down over the summer, with his successor expected to be former Holland defender Frank De Boer, who left his role as Ajax head coach in May.
The 46-year-old was linked with Premier League clubs Everton and Southampton before those vacancies were filled by Ronald Koeman and Claude Puel respectively.

It was the second time former Manchester City manager Mancini took the top job at the Nerazzurri, having led the club to three league titles and two Coppa Italia during his first spell between 2004 and 2008.
Having been sacked by Inter in 2008, Mancini went on to manage Manchester City for three-and-a-half years before taking charge of Galatasaray in 2013. He led the club to a Turkish Cup trophy and departed at the end of the season.

De Boer could be appointed before Borussia Monchengladbach arrive in Ancona for a warm-up match on Wednesday night, with Celtic providing the opposition in Limerick on Saturday, and he will have plenty of time to sign more players before the Serie A season starts against Chievo on August 21.
